Yes. You can connect an RSM to HMD Terra M. An RSM is an external accessory commonly used with professional radios and PTT devices. It allows users to speak and listen hands-free while keeping the phone securely clipped to a belt or vest.
HMD Terra M supports RSM connection via:
- Bluetooth® (wireless RSM)
- 3.5 mm audio jack (wired RSM)
This makes the device well suited for Push-to-Talk and field communication scenarios where quick access and hands-free operation are required.
The two gold-coated pins on the back of HMD Terra M are charging contacts. They are used to charge the device when it is placed in the stackable charging cradle accessory (sold separately). These pins ensure reliable, aligned charging in desk, fleet, and shift-based environments without the need to plug in a cable each time.
You can type text on HMD Terra M in three ways:
- On-screen touch keyboard using the touchscreen
- Physical keypad using our Keypad 9 predictive keypad
- Physical keypad using the built-in IME (Input Method Editor)
You can switch between the on-screen keyboard and keypad input directly on the device, depending on your preference and the application you are using by long pressing the upper left key.
